An Agency with Heart

The Cause

Would you trust a $1,000 car to go the distance between Melbourne and Townsville? In case you’re wondering how far that is, picture 3,627 kilometres of dirt track. Or forty hours without traffic.

The Shitbox Rally raises crucial funds for cancer research projects nationally. The Rally isn’t a race, but rather a challenge for anybody willing to traipse dirt roads over a week far from civilisation – all in a cheap ‘shitbox’ vehicle.

Why would anybody want to do that?

We’ve all be affected by cancer in one way or another. Supporting an organisation that has raised more than $11.5 million for cancer research to date is definitely worth the while.

The Ask

One of the drivers, a much-loved client of The Being Group, Raz Chorev, contacted us and asked for help to make him stand out in the crowd – so of course, we said yes. An agency with heart will naturally garner amazing clients, and amazing clients always make you want to go the extra mile. We consider ourselves very lucky.

The Design

Tasked with bringing the incredible David Bowie back to life, the Major Tom theme gave us all the inspiration we needed.

The Being Group’s resident photographer James (AKA Leonardo da Vinci) did a bang-up job beautifying the car for this year’s Spring Rally, transforming it from drab to fab in a colourful, out of this world design that was certainly an eye-catcher. (Before it got coated in dust, anyway!)

The Results

The 2019 Spring Rally held between 19 and 25 October raised a whopping $2,269,193 alone. The 2020 Autumn event to be held between 23 and 29 May is still open for registrations. Check out the Shitbox Rally website if we’ve piqued your interest. There’s still time to register.

If we haven’t convinced you with our words, take a look at all the fun from this year’s Spring Rally below.
