Because an estimated 70% of jobs globally are created by micro and small enterprises, the ILO supports aspiring entrepreneurs as a key to creating more and better jobs.

Our CEO, Siebert Neethling, worked with two other global experts in learning and entrepreneurship – from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and the de Baak Leadership Centre in the Netherlands – to evaluate the efficacy and implementation of the SIYB program in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The extensive evaluation process included site visits, interviews, data analysis, comparative studies and outcomes assessment. The findings, conclusions and recommendations were so impactful that the three authors were invited to Geneva to present their report in person, and make further recommendations for program improvements and the development of trainers for the program.
