The Australian environment presents unusual challenges for all pharmaceutical companies, because of the unique Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme. Here, in-house health economists play a pivotal role in bringing products to market, yet they are often isolated in large companies, and conceptionally disconnected from other parts of the business.
We supported Novartis Australia with strategic planning for their Health Economics team, to both achieve team success and also build collaboration with sales teams and other parts of the organisation.
Over several team retreats, joint team workshops and individual support, we helped improve cohesion and collaboration, conducted stakeholder analysis, improved skills and shaped clear strategic direction.
This success led to repeat development work for the same team, and work in other parts of the organisation, as well as projects with leaders who subsequently moved to organisations such as Allergan, Baxter and Sun Pharma.
In addition, we delivered a keynote address at a Novartis conference and coached members of the leadership team.
