Broadening its reach to Australian shores – specifically NSW Water Polo and Sydney University – Kap7’s custom merchandise design needed to embody the spirit of Sydney, while remaining on-brand with both organisations.

How do you engage a niche international market with Sydney-focused merchandise?

An illustrated variation of Sydney University’s lion mascot lazes in a hammock, effortlessly twirling a water polo ball on its finger. Complementary blue and yellow primary colours denote the water and sand of coastal Australia.

A stylised silhouette of a water polo tournament is illustrated in Sydney Harbour. The Sydney Harbour Bridge sits nestled behind this scene, tying into the NSW Water Polo logo and banner. Tonal blues allude to the Pacific Ocean that surrounds Australia’s east.
